Angel Reese recorded her eighth straight double-double, becoming the first rookie since A’ja Wilson to record at least 25 points and 15 rebounds in a game. In a thrilling game at Illinois, Angel Reese had 25 points and 16 rebounds as the Chicago Sky rallied from a 15-point deficit to beat the Indiana Fever 88-87.

Despite the Fever’s Caitlin Clark recording a franchise-record 13 assists and contributing 17 points to her team.

Clark played hard throughout the game, but lost to their college basketball rival. It was the first time Reese had beaten Clark since the 2023 NCAA Championship Game. The Sky won their first game of the season against the Fever in their third attempt, ending their opponent’s winning streak at four.

Chicago trailed 82-70 with 6:38 left in the game, but Reese came back with 10 points and five rebounds.
With the score tied with 2:30 left, Reese gave the Sky a two-point lead.
Kennedy Carter and Camila Cardoso each made one of two free throws to make the score 88-84 with 27 seconds left.

Fever’s Aliyah Boston hit a 3-pointer to tie the game, but her team missed two shots in the final seconds to give Chicago the win. Reese recorded her eighth consecutive double-double, extending her own WNBA rookie record. When asked how she performs at the highest level, Reese said, “I’m a dog. You can’t teach it. I’m going to go out there and do whatever it takes to win, and my teammates are counting on my energy every night.” “My job is to feel the energy, whether we’re down or up.” The New York Liberty beat the Atlanta Dream 96-75 to move to the top of the league table. Sabrina Ionescu scored 26 points, her second straight game scoring 20 or more points. The second-place Connecticut Sun lost their second straight game, 72-61, to the Seattle Storm. Stephanie Dolson was the star for the Washington Mystics. She hit four 3-pointers to help her team beat the Dallas Wings 92-84 and scored 18 points as the Minnesota Lynx beat the Phoenix Mercury 73-60.
