Daniel Cormier and Chael Sonnen are surprised that Charles Oliveira has a list of demands to fight at UFC 303. Oliveira is supposedly the backup fighter for Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler. However, Oliveira has reportedly put forth a list of demands to take up that position.

DC and Sonnen recently discussed Charles Oliveira on the Good Guy / Bad Guy segment. Cormier could not believe that ‘Do Bronx’ would have demands.

You can't give demands! You cannot give demands...now that you lost to Arman Tsarukyan... the biggest thing you can get is to fight Conor McGregor... 'but I have to have these things to happen!' No Charles, tell them, 'I'll be there, I'll make the weight and please Michael Chandler, get hurt'.

Chael Sonnen is convinced Michael Chandler will not pull out of the fight. As such, he wants Oliveira to take note of this and make decisions accordingly. Having the most consistent record when it comes to signing a fight and following through, neither would Conor McGregor. So unless any one of them gets sick or injured, Oliveira has little chance of fighting on this card.

What he advised him to do instead was make weight, go through training camp, and accept the UFC’s offer. Because as circumstances stand, he is more likely to enjoy a first-class ticket to International Fight Week and some of the show money for free than step into the octagon. Will Oliveira take up the fight or will the UFC put someone else?

What are Charles Oliveira’s demands for fighting Conor McGregor?

Well, it turns out the former lightweight champion does not have a list of demands but one. According to a recent interview he did with MMA Fighting all he wants is a contract renegotiation.

I offered myself to be the alternate for that fight, and obviously, I’m down for that. I’d make some money if I don’t fight, and if I do fight, then awesome. The only condition is if I were to fight McGregor, then I’d have to re-negotiate that before. Once I said that, everyone started talking about me and moving to 170, but that’s not exactly what it is.

It will take place this June at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. It will be interesting to see if Charles Oliveira remains the backup fighter for this match.
