Maxx Crosby: A Raider for Life and a Generous Alumnus

The Las Vegas Raiders are fortunate to have Maxx Crosby, a former fourth-round pick in 2019 who has emerged as one of the NFL’s top defensive ends. A leader on and off the field, Crosby was rewarded with a substantial contract extension two years ago.

On Friday, Crosby and his wife Rachel visited Eastern Michigan University (EMU) in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where they were honored with the unveiling of “Crosby Field.” The couple, who met at EMU and were both athletic standouts, made a $1 million donation to the athletic department last year, funding significant renovations.

“Crosby Field” now graces EMU’s Rynearson Stadium, featuring new gray and green turf and the removal of the old track surface. Scott Wetherbee, Vice President/Director of Athletics, praised Crosby’s dedication: “Maxx wants to leave a legacy and give back to our student-athletes. He literally wears his love for Eastern on his sleeve.”

Crosby, who hopes to retire as a Raider, expressed his commitment to the team’s future. He is particularly excited about retaining interim head coach Antonio Pierce and aims to bring a championship to Las Vegas. Drawing inspiration from NBA legends like Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan, Crosby wants to achieve success with one team.

“Going through the ups and downs will make it that much sweeter when I win a Super Bowl,” Crosby said. “I plan on being here for a very long time and winning here. I feel like I’m going to be a Raider for life.”
