Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were left “furious and in tears” after being evicted from Frogmore Cottage, a royal expert claims. The eviction, which took place in March 2023 following the release of Harry’s memoir *Spare*, was seen by Harry as a vindictive move by his father, King Charles.

A source informed The Standard: “The Sussexes are no longer leasing Frogmore Cottage. That privilege has been removed. It’s over for them in the UK. If they want a residence in the UK, they will have to buy one privately.” By June 2023, Harry and Meghan had returned the keys and moved their belongings to California.

Royal commentator Tom Quinn told the Mirror that Harry was “absolutely furious and in tears” over the eviction, viewing it as a cruel rejection and a painful reminder of his parents’ contentious divorce. Quinn added that Harry struggled to understand how stepping down as a working royal led to losing his royal home.

“For many, Harry is just a poor little rich kid behaving like a spoiled brat,” Quinn said. “But Harry sees himself as the eternal victim.”
