Tensions within the British royal family have reached a boiling point once again. Prince Harry reportedly lost his temper and stormed off after learning that both his brother, Prince William, and his stepmother, Queen Camilla, objected to King Charles’ plan to visit the United States. King Charles had hoped to visit Prince Harry and his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, who live in California.
A source revealed that King Charles is determined to be a present grandfather to all his grandchildren. However, due to geographical distance, he hasn’t spent as much time with Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3. Prince Harry is reportedly open to his father’s visit, a sentiment echoed by a California-based source who told New Idea, “He’s relieved Charles seems to want to make the effort.”
Despite King Charles’ intentions, those close to him, including Queen Camilla and Prince William, are not supportive of the idea. Camilla is reportedly concerned about the health risks associated with such a journey, given King Charles’ age and his ongoing battle with cancer. On the other hand, Prince William allegedly finds it incomprehensible why their father would go to such lengths. “William can’t understand why Charles would be going out on a limb like this,” an insider stated.
Royal biographer Tom Quinn highlighted the challenges in planning such a visit, noting that while King Charles has made unpublicised visits to other countries, including Transylvania, visiting his estranged son and grandchildren in California involves overcoming significant planning hurdles. Nonetheless, the King remains desperate to see his grandchildren and fears that Archie and Lilibet might not remember him as the warm, friendly grandfather he wishes to be.
