Meghan Markle to ‘No Doubt’ Overtake Kate Middleton in Popularity

Amid swirling rumors, Meghan Markle is poised to make a triumphant return to Instagram, and according to one expert, she is set to surpass Kate Middleton in popularity. The Duchess of Sussex has faced a challenging few months, but the tides may be turning in her favor.

Speculation abounds that Meghan is preparing to relaunch her popular blog, The Tig, along with her Instagram account. PR expert Mayah Riaz suggests that Meghan could eclipse her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, in the public eye. Despite a recent survey showing Kate and Prince William leading in popularity, Riaz believes this could soon change.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Riaz said, “It’s no doubt when Meghan re-joins Instagram she will overtake Kate in terms of popularity. Kate’s Instagram is curated with huge precision. There are things which Kate isn’t able to post.”

A Tale of Two Instagrams

Kate Middleton’s Instagram presents a carefully curated and polished image, likely managed by a team of staff to maintain the Royal Family’s desired portrayal. In contrast, Meghan’s potential return to social media promises a more unfiltered and personal glimpse into her life, free from the constraints of royal approval.

Meghan, who stepped down from royal duties three years ago and moved to America with Prince Harry, will have the freedom to post as she pleases. Riaz explains, “She won’t have to run it by anyone for approval before posting it. We can see all aspects of Meghan and her family life.”

This level of authenticity is expected to garner widespread media attention. “We don’t often see Kate’s Instagram posts making headlines. However, Meghan’s life on Instagram will lead to headlines. We can also expect to hear news of projects announced first on her Instagram,” Riaz added.

A New Social Media Landscape

Recent public appearances, such as Meghan and Harry dancing at a Beyoncé concert, highlight the stark differences between the Sussexes and the Cambridges. “We have seen footage of Meghan dancing at Beyoncé’s concert as well as public display of affection with Harry. We would never see Kate and William like this,” Riaz noted. This distinction will likely contribute to the contrasting styles of their Instagram accounts.

However, Meghan’s potential return to social media is not without its challenges. Riaz cautioned that Meghan might face online trolling. “We are more likely to believe that Meghan herself will be posting on her Instagram. This will lead to an explosion of followers very quickly when it’s confirmed that @meghan is her account. Along with the explosion of following, I fear that a lot of it will be trolling. We have seen the amount of hate directed her way on Twitter (X) and sadly, I think that will follow on Instagram too.”
