A photo of Kelce appeared on social media with the misleading text, “Travis Kelce Receives 3-Game Suspension for Next Season Coupled with $10 Million Fine.” One user commented, “I am so proud of the NFL. This guy thought he was so good he could get away with it.. I’m still laughing!!”

This headline was published by the satire website SpaceXMania on Feb. 14, stating the decision was due to “a series of infractions deemed detrimental to the league’s integrity and sportsmanship.” However, Tim Schlittner, the NFL’s director of communications, confirmed on Feb. 19 that the assertions were “not true.”
SpaceXMania, known for its fake news and satire, acknowledged the story was entirely fabricated. There are no records of such a fine or ban against Kelce on the NFL Operations or Kansas City Chiefs’ websites.
The NFL fine for “unsportsmanlike conduct” is $13,659 for a first offense and $19,123 for a second offense, not $10 million. The Kansas City Chiefs did not respond to requests for comment.
Before the Super Bowl, a conspiracy theory alleged that the NFL “scripted” Kelce’s relationship with pop star Taylor Swift to boost support for Joe Biden. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell dismissed this claim.
