Kate Martin has already picked up several new nicknames in her rookie season with the Las Vegas Aces, including “Money Martin” and “K$,” and even her fan club is known as “The Martinis.”
The 2018 Edwardsville High School graduate and former “Glue” at Iowa could be adding a new one soon.

On Friday, the WNBA released the totals from the voting for the All-Star Game, which will be held July 20 inside Footprint Center in Phoenix. The game will pit Team USA against Team WNBA.
All-star teams will be announced July 2.
According to the WNBA, players will be picked based on fan voting (50 percent), current WNBA players vote (25 percent) and media vote (25 percent).
Online fan voting ends June 29. Fans can submit a ballot each day until voting ends.
The top 10 players will automatically make the All-Star Game. To fill out the 12-player Team WNBA roster, those among the top 36 vote-getters will be eligible for selection.
Marin has 91,565 votes for the 12th place, just outside of the top 10. Los Angeles Sparks forward Dearica Hamby is 10th with 97,094 votes.
In 13 games this season with the Aces, Martin is averaging 4.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists.
Martin’s teammate A’ja Wilson is the leading vote-getter with 217,773 votes. Martin’s former Iowa teammate Caitlin Clark, of the Indiana Fever, is second with 216,427 votes.
