Expressing gratitude, Hathaway remarked, “You have no idea the gift that you’ve just given us with your responsiveness, by being so connected to every little nuance in this.” She continued, “I will never forget this screening. Thank you so much.”

Reflecting on the theme of coming-of-age, Hathaway observed, “For some reason, we talk about coming-of-age stories as being something that happens to you in the earliest part of your life, and I don’t know about you, but I feel like I keep blooming.” She expressed her excitement about accepting the role when it was offered by Cathy Schulman and Gabrielle Union.

Scheduled for release on May 2 on Amazon Prime Video, “The Idea of You” narrates the story of Solène, portrayed by Hathaway, a divorced mother who unexpectedly finds romance with a charming pop star, Hayes Campbell, played by Galitzine, after a chance encounter at the Coachella Music Festival.

The romantic comedy is an adaptation of Robinne Lee’s 2017 novel of the same title. Lee clarified in an interview with Vogue that while Harry Styles was an inspiration for the character of Hayes, the essence of the story lies in a woman reclaiming her sexuality and self-discovery as she approaches 40, challenging societal norms that often diminish women’s desirability and value.
