Las Vegas Aces rookie Kate Martin’s fanbase has grown exponentially ever since she was drafted by the Aces in the second round of the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Martin was already a household name among Iowa Hawkeyes fans. But she has entered a new stratosphere of stardom since beginning professional basketball.
This has exposed the rookie to all new kinds of attention, and has upped her profile within one of the entertainment capitals of the world.
And Martin recently even caught the attention of renowned comedian Theo Von before her home game against the Dallas Wings on Sunday.
On Saturday night, Von posted an Instagram story of him and Martin together, with the caption, “my hero @katemartin pulled up” with a salute emoji, a basketball emoji, and a heart emoji.
It appears that Von was performing his comedy tour in Las Vegas last night, and Martin (along with her brother) showed up to support him.
Perhaps Von will return the favor, and will be in attendance for Sunday’s game between the Aces and Wings to support the former Iowa Hawkeye.
