Clark has not received this treatment from a rival since she came to the WNBA
Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has been under pressure since she arrived in the WNBA. Her rivals have received her in a very harsh and sometimes violent manner, seeming annoyed that she has made it to the league despite attracting the attention of thousands of fans at her games.
During Tuesday night’s Indiana Fever game against the Las Vegas Acesa WNBA veteran had the first positive gesture toward Caitlin on the court, a ‘classy’ nod toward the rookie.
WNBA veteran’s gesture towards Caitlin Clark earns praise
Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever lost 69-88 to the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday night, a game that even had to change venues thanks to the rookie Clark’s sweeping popularity in the WNBA.
The Aces front office moved Tuesday’s game against Indiana from the Michelob ULTRA Arena, with a capacity for 12,000 fans, to the 18,000 seats-T-Mobile Arena, the New York Post reported.
Reports from specialized sites claim that Las Vegas sold twice as many tickets for this game against the Fever as it sold for games 1 and 2 of the WNBA Finals last year.
During this exciting and intense game, Aces veteran Jackie Young had a positive on-court gesture for Caitlin. The Fever rookie fell hard to the floor after losing possession of the ball as she was driving toward the basket, Young untied her shoe laces to give Clark a chance to catch her breath and recover after her fall.
The video shows the moment when Young makes this heartfelt gesture to Caitlin, who had only received totally opposite signs to this moment.
Fans reacted moved by the ‘classy’ move by the Las Vegas Aces veteran to the Indiana Fever rookie.
