Arguably the most highly anticipated WNBA season of all-time gets underway on Tuesday night. Caitlin Clark will be making her regular season debut with the Indiana Fever, and she will have most of the eyes of WNBA fans and basketball fans in general.
But right before the Fever take on the Connecticut Sun, the reigning WNBA MVP will open the season with the New York Liberty. Breanna Stewart earned her second MVP award in 2023 in her first season with the Liberty. She’s looking to repeat in 2024.
Caitlin Clark opens up about the hardest part of being Caitlin ClarkA’ja Wilson the overwhelming favorite for 2024 WNBA MVP
But Stewart actually isn’t the favorite among bettors to win the 2024 award. That title belongs to A’ja Wilson, who is currently a +100 favorite on FanDuel. Stewart is way behind her in second at +750.
Clark comes in third at +950, which is impressive considering she’s a rookie. Candace Parker was the only rookie to also win the WNBA MVP award in the same season. Clark definitely has the talent to do it, but Wilson and Stewart are tough competition.
Everyone is betting on Caitlin Clark to be WNBA MVP

That’s not stopping bettors from shooting for the moon, though. According to BetMGM, Clark accounts for almost 75% of the money spent on betting for the winner of the 2024 WNBA MVP.
If Clark pulls off a nearly unprecedented move and beats out the best of the best to be named MVP, she will be making bettors plenty of money.
