If you’ve watched The Wizard of Oz, you probably remember the scene where Dorothy and her companions drift off to sleep in a field of enchanted poppies. But if Ariana Grande had penned the tale, we imagine those flowers would have had a touch more pink—maybe they would have been a field of peonies instead.

The “Yes, And” songstress has fully embraced a soft pink color scheme as she promotes her upcoming movie Wicked, where she takes on the role of Glinda Upland, also known as The Wizard of Oz’s Glinda the Good Witch. This trend continued when Grande made an appearance at CinemaCon 2024 in Las Vegas on Wednesday, donning a vibrant pink-and-white floral gown by Oscar de la Renta.

Grande’s mini dress looked like it was coming to life right there on stage, with its oversized petals crafted from flowing fabric—so realistic that we wouldn’t be surprised if bees were tempted to alight on her if she stepped outside. Each petal had a white base with bright pink edges, and the center of the design featured a yellow stigma. To complement the outfit, the Victorious star opted for a pair of white heels and adorned herself with delicate gold drop earrings.

Grande’s co-star Cynthia Erivo, who portrays Elphaba, also made a fitting choice to embody her character, the Wicked Witch of the West. For the occasion, Erivo rocked a glittering silver Versace miniskirt paired with an off-the-shoulder jade-green top and matching satin thigh-high boots.

As the duo promotes Wicked, it seems their stylists have taken inspiration from Law Roach’s “method dressing” philosophy, as Erivo and Grande have been seen in plenty of green and pink ensembles, respectively, to echo their characters. It’s anyone’s guess how they’ll incorporate these colors into their next looks.
