The UConn Huskies star had an emotional moment with her first ever car.
As an athlete, Paige Bueckers needs to be mentally resilient to handle the pressures of NCAA basketball but even she can have moments of weakness as the UConn Huskies’ star bid an emotional farewell to her first ever car.
The 22-year-old from Minnesota posted the image to Instagram in which announced she’s moving on from her red vehicle, although she didn’t explain whether she is selling it or simply stopping use.
She could be set to upgrade after her Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) value rose with the departure of a series of key NCAA talent such as Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and Cameron Brinks as she seems set to inherit that stardom vacuum.
As she concluded her chapter with her first car, Bueckers posted, “Saying bye to my first born.”
Currently, she’s got contracts with Gatorade, Nike, Crocs and many more so could she be on the horizon of a new deal? With a NIL value of $652,000, she can quite comfortable afford an excellent new car to serve her well for years.
It could also be a case of keeping up appearances as Reese recently flexed a brand new white Mercedes-Benz to the tune of $183,000 after being drafted seventh overall in the WNBA Draft.
Although it’s worth noting that Reese’s NIL and valuation is around three times greater than that of Bueckers, meaning they’re competing in different financial ballparks…
Bueckers inspired by Kyrie Irving’s stellar NBA Playoffs performance
Kyrie Irving turned up the heat at the American Airlines Center as the Dallas Mavericks booked their place in the next phase of the NBA Playoffs by dumping out the Los Angeles Clippers on May 3.
The controversial basketball star posted 30 points, six rebounds and four assists in the decisive game as he and Luka Doncic came in clutch for the Texan side once again.
That impressed Bueckers, who took to social media to quite simply say, “Nah Kyrie is disgusting.”
To avoid any doubt, in this context that’s actually very high praise despite the connotations of “disgusting” appearing to be an oxymoron. It means that Irving displayed a very high level of talent in the 114-101 win.
