ESPN’s Pat McAfee has quickly addressed the mounting criticism he has faced for calling Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark a “white b*tch” during his show on Monday morning.
When discussing the 2024 WNBA Draft class on his show, Pat McAfee said to “call it for what it is, there’s one white b*tch for the Indiana team who is a superstar.” McAfee was referencing Caitlin Clark, the No. 1 pick of the draft.

Hours after making the comment, McAfee took to X/Twitter and apologized for referring to Clark as a “white b*tch.” The former NFL punter added that he personally reached out to Clark to apologize:
Caitlin Clark’s arrival in the WNBA has been one of the top sports stories of 2024. The highest-scorer in NCAA Division I basketball history has played a monumental role in helping the WNBA TV partners enjoy record-setting viewership, as reported by Sports Media Watch.
Clark is off to a superb start for the Fever, averaging 15.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Clark and Indiana have three more off days before they return to the court for a road game vs. Washington on Friday.
Another Controversy On “The Pat McAfee Show”
Pat McAfee’s reference to Caitlin Clark as a “white b*tch” is far from the only controversy to have transpired ever since his show moved to ESPN.
Though the words didn’t come from McAfee’s mouth, his show received immense backlash for allowing New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers to speak freely on the program. Rodgers speed plenty of misinformation about COVID-19 and vaccines and indicated that Jimmy Kimmel was on the client list of Jeffrey Epstein.
McAfee subsequently announced that the four-time league MVP and future Hall of Famer would not be on the show for the rest of the season. Rodgers has continued to float baseless conspiracy theories on other shows and podcasts.
