One of the perks of being the grandson of the King must be all the celebrities you get to meet, and it seems Prince George has been taking full advantage of this privilege.

Despite still being a few weeks shy of his 11th birthday, the young royal has rubbed shoulders with an impressive number of the great and the good, generally accompanied by his father Prince William.

Last Friday the Prince of Wales took George and his little sister Princess Charlotte to see Taylor Swift on the first night of her Eras tour at Wembley Stadium, and they got to have a meet and greet with her before the show started.

She is not the only pop star to have met the royals, as Katy Perry performed at the King’s Coronation Concert in Windsor last year and attended the after-party.

Many of George’s pals are fellow Brits and long-term friends of the Firm, including Sir David Attenborough, David Beckham, Daniel Craig and Stephen Fry.

Intrepid adventurer Bear Grylls also shared a story on Good Morning Britain about how he caught the future King eating an ant while on the Isle of Wight.

The prince was just six years old at the time, and was called out by Mr Grylls when he accepted a trophy for his victory in a celebrity charity regatta.

He said: “And also Prince George, your first ant you ate today. And that is a great moment. Well done, you.”

The speech left George’s parents Prince William and Princess Kate in stitches as they chuckled at their youngster’s antics.

Actor Ben Affleck interestingly revealed on The Graham Norton Show that he caught a cold from George after taking his own son to the same play area as the royals inadvertently, back when he was filming Justice League in London.

A lot of the famous people George meets perhaps more unsurprisingly are world leaders, as he met Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during an official visit there, and entertained Barack Obama when the then-President came to Kensington Palace.

But it is the world of sport where the ten-year-old has the most impressive connections, as he has hung out at various sports matches with Tyrone Mings, Jack Grealish, Sir Alex Ferguson and Novak Djokovic.

Roger Federer especially has a sweet bond with George as he shared a story about teaching the prince to play tennis, and admitted he had a “good swing”.

The sports star said he spent time with the Wales family at their Norfolk home Anmer Hall back in 2019, and praised George and his mum Princess Kate.

He said: “He’s a cute boy. I love to see they’re into tennis or into sport. His mum has always enjoyed tennis. I hope he’ll stay the same in a few years’ time and this is not just an in-the-moment situation.
