Caitlin Clark became the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double in Saturday afternoon’s upset victory over the New York Liberty.

Clark, the WNBA’s No. 1 pick, has clearly earned the respect and admiration of her Indiana Fever teammates.

After Clark’s historic performance, several Fever teammates took to social media with public messages of support.

“Yeaaaaaaa CC!!!” Indiana veteran Erica Wheeler wrote on X in response to Clark’s record-setting feat.

Fans are loving Wheeler’s unabashed support for her rookie teammate.

“Way to pull together as a team Erica! Great teams love one another like all of you @IndianaFever are beginning to do,” one wrote.

“You are THE BEST- court or sideline you are locked in and always showing support. You coming flying in to help CC when she was covered up and grabbing that pass for the shot *chefs kiss*,” another said.

“Awesome support from a great teammate!! Proud of all of you,” another added.

Wheeler, a ninth-year WNBA veteran, played a much bigger role for the Fever early in the 2024 season but has fallen out of the rotation. She played just six minutes in Saturday’s win, recording two points and one turnover.

Despite her recent drop in playing time, Wheeler continues to prove herself a great teammate and veteran leader for Clark.

The Fever look to carry this momentum into Wednesday’s game against the Washington Mystics.
