Midway through the 2024 WNBA season, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever finally seem to have the chemistry fans have been waiting for. After a tough start to the season, the Fever are 6–3 over their last nine games and have jumped into playoff contention.
Despite the improvements, there has been one major concern that has been consistent throughout the entire season involving Clark and her teammates. The former Iowa Hawkeyes star leads the league in turnovers by a wide margin. A lot of this has to do with her teammates being unable to catch her passes.
Fever head coach Christie Sides recently spoke on this issue and justified this problem by complimenting Clark’s incredible playmaking ability.
“She sees things as they’re happening, and sometimes before the player that’s gonna get the ball even realizes it. She’s a hell of a passer,” Sides said.

With the ongoing experience of playing with Clark, her teammates should start to show improvement when it comes to catching the passes Clark tosses their way. But to be real, her teammates are not all to blame for Clark’s high turnover numbers; she has made some brutal mistakes herself.
This has been an issue since day one, but there is no reason to think it won’t change. Despite the drops, Clark is still second in the league in assists, averaging 7.4 per game.
Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell will all represent the Fever at the 2024 WNBA All-Star game later this month, proving that they have a roster built to succeed even with their faults.
