Haley Cavinder Transfers to TCU from Miami; Says She Felt 'Pressure' to Retire | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors | Bleacher Report

Haley Cavinder’s plans to join Texas Christian University have taken an unexpected turn. The college basketball standout, who briefly departed the NCAA to pursue a career in professional wrestling, announced her commitment to TCU last year. However, following Hailey Van Lith’s decision to transfer to TCU from Louisiana State University, Cavinder has opted to explore other options.

Van Lith’s entry into the transfer portal and subsequent announcement of her intention to join the Horned Frogs generated excitement among fans envisioning the dynamic duo of Hailey and Haley in TCU’s locker room. However, Cavinder’s recent decision to play elsewhere was driven not by Van Lith’s choice but by her desire to reunite with her sister.

Cavinder’s twin sister, Hanna Cavinder, recently revealed her decision to return to the University of Miami, where they previously played together before pursuing WWE careers. In light of this development, Haley Cavinder announced her own return to Miami U for their fifth and final year of eligibility in a heartfelt social media post on Thursday.

“Given the news yesterday that my sister was returning to play ball at Miami and after careful consideration and thought, I’ve decided to return to the University of Miami and play with Hanna for our final and 5th year,” she shared. “There is nothing more important than family and the bond I share with my Twin sister. Being presented with the opportunity to play together one more time is something I cannot pass up. I am excited for this upcoming season and can’t wait to play at the U.”

Haley Cavinder and her sister Hanna have secured numerous NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) contracts. Among these deals, they signed with WWE a few years ago, signaling their intent to pursue careers as professional wrestlers. Despite their training with the promotion last year, the twins have yet to make their debuts in the ring, leaving fans curious about their progress behind the scenes.

Prior to their venture into professional wrestling, the Cavinder twins made their mark in collegiate basketball, spending their first three seasons with Fresno State. In the 2022-23 season, they transferred to Miami, where Haley assumed a regular starting role while Hanna primarily came off the bench, averaging 16.6 minutes per game.
