Former NBA player Evan Turner reacts to a viral video of Sean "Diddy" Combs assaulting Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura in 2016.

Legendary rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been in the limelight for the wrong reasons this year. In March 2024, federal agents raided his two mansions in Los Angeles as part of what was reportedly a “sex trafficking” investigation. Combs was also stopped by police before leaving for the Bahamas but has not been charged with a crime by federal prosecutors.

Four months before authorities descended on his properties without warning, Combs was accused by her longtime partner Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura of physical abuse in 2016.

The R&B artist, who worked under Combs’ “Bad Boy” productions, also alleged that she was sexually assaulted. One day after the allegations were filed, Ventura and Diddy reached an agreement to settle the case.

On Friday, CNN released footage of Sean “Diddy” Combs hitting Ventura in a hotel hallway in 2016. What happened in the clip matched with the details Ventura wrote in her lawsuit last year that was eventually settled off the court.

Former NBA player Evan Turner reacted to the viral clip and posted on X, formerly Twitter:

“Diddy bogus”

Three other women besides Cassandra Ventura had the same accusations leveled at Combs.

Unsurprisingly, he defended himself and called the lawsuits “sickening allegations” and declared that his accusers were after “a quick payday.” The music producer’s lawyer declared once an undisclosed amount had been used to settle Ventura’s allegations that the settlement was not an admission of guilt.

CNN’s tape, though, has brought only added attention to Sean “Diddy Combs.” The rapper reportedly managed to buy the footage from the now-closed InterContinental Hotel Century in LA for $50,000. Until the said network released the clip, most were wondering about the captured incident from the hotel’s CCTV.
