Amazon Prime Video has announced the renewal of “Fallout” for Season 2.

This decision follows a report from Variety revealing that the second season is poised to receive $25 million in tax credits by relocating production to California.

“Fallout,” adapted from the renowned video game franchise, is set two centuries after the apocalypse. The series follows the inhabitants of opulent fallout shelters who are compelled to return to the radioactive wasteland abandoned by their ancestors. They are met with a surprising and dangerous universe, filled with complexity and violence.

Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serve as creators, executive producers, and showrunners. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy executive produce through Kilter Films, under an overarching deal with Amazon. Athena Wickham of Kilter Films and Todd Howard for Bethesda Game Studios, along with James Altman for Bethesda Softworks, also executive produce. The show is a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios, Kilter Films, Bethesda Game Studios, and Bethesda Softworks.

The ensemble cast includes Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Walton Goggins, Moisés Arias, Sarita Choudhury, Michael Emerson, Leslie Uggams, Frances Turner, Dave Register, Zach Cherry, Johnny Pemberton, Rodrigo Luzzi, Annabel O’Hagan, and Xelia Mendes-Jones.

According to Amazon, “Fallout” ranks among the top three most-watched titles ever on Prime Video and the most-watched season of TV on the platform since “The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power.”

The show has garnered critical acclaim, holding a 94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Aramide Tinubu, in her review for Variety, describes it as “Bizarre but intensely fun” and asserts that viewers won’t be able to turn away.
