Netflix has officially announced that The Witcher adaptation will conclude with its fifth season.
The final two seasons of The Witcher will adapt the three remaining books by author Andrzej Sapkowski: Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake. Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich assures fans of “an epic and satisfying conclusion” to the series.
Season 4 will introduce Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia, succeeding Henry Cavill, who departed the role after Season 3. Laurence Fishburne joins the cast for Season 4 as Regis, a seasoned Barber-surgeon with a mysterious background.
According to Netflix’s official statement, Season 4 will follow Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri as they navigate the war-torn Continent and confront its myriad demons. Separated from each other, they must unite and lead disparate groups to survive the baptism of fire and reunite.
In the realm of The Witcher video games, CD Projekt has launched modding tools for The Witcher 3 on PC. Meanwhile, development on The Witcher 4 is progressing swiftly, with two-thirds of the studio actively engaged in the project.
