With the arrival of superstar talents like Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark, the WNBA is getting more attention than ever.
This attention is bringing a lot of positive change to the league — but also some negative responses from insecure haters.
Apr 15, 2024; Brooklyn, NY, USA; Angel Reese poses with WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert after she is selected with the number seven overall pick to the Chicago Sky n the 2024 WNBA Draft at Brooklyn Academy of Music.
One of these haters took to social media with a disgusting response to a recent video of Dallas Wings stars Kalani Brown and Teaira McCowan.
“They letting trans inna WNBA,” the hater wrote.
Angel Reese fired back at this message with a blunt response in defense of her new colleagues.
“Yall never seen black tall women that are FINE??? yall so weird & insecure and it SHOWS!!!” Reese wrote.
Reese has been outspoken about the support she’s received from WNBA veterans so far in her young career.
“Being at the draft last week, being able to talk to Nneka [Ogwumike], being able to talk to Satou [Sabally], being able to talk to a lot of the vets, they were telling me they were super excited for us to come here,” Reese said earlier this year. “They understand and they know our impact.”
Reese was stellar in her first two preseason games for the Chicago Sky. The No. 7 overall pick will make her regular-season debut when the Sky take the court against Brown, McCowan and the Wings on Wednesday, May 15.
