Caitlin Clark needs a black, male coach and Indiana Fever must FIRE Christie Sides, says Jason Whitlock.
The Indiana Fever need a new ‘black, male coach,’ Jason Whitlock has claimed, with the right-wing commentator claiming that current coach Christie Sides is ‘in over her head’ in managing Caitlin Clark.
Sides, who Clark appeared to argue with over the weekend, is a white woman and Whitlock believes that she’s unfit to manage the Fever’s predominantly black roster.
‘The coach is in over her head as well, through no fault of her own,’ Whitlock said on his ‘Fearless’ podcast. ‘A white woman trying to coach Caitlin Clark in the WNBA, with a predominantly black woman roster – that’s a match made in hell.
‘It cannot work. It’s sustainable. If she tells them properly what to do, you got a few of them women in there, they’re gonna revolt and call her racist and just say you’re catering everything to Caitlin Clark. They’re gon’ play the race card on it. I think they gotta have a black male coach.’
Whitlock went on to suggest the Fever hire former Warriors coach Mark Jackson, as he believes he can speak to the team’s black players more effectively than Sides.

Whitlock even called for former Warriors head coach Mark Jackson to be considered
Caitlin Clark is seen during her team’s 88-87 loss to the Chicago Sky on Sunday night.

‘He can go in there and tell them black [players], ‘Look this is the way we’re playing,’ Whitlock said.
”We got Caitlin Clark here, this is what we gotta do, call me racist all you want, call me sexist, whatever. Call me an Uncle Tom, I don’t care, we’re gonna play through Caitlin Clark, we’re gonna play a way that makes sense for her.”
Of course, Clark’s race has consistently been a point of discussion outside of her control.
Former NFL QB Robert Griffin III claimed she and rival Angel Reese were being used in a ‘race war’, while Stephen A. Smith claimed that some black WNBA players ‘resent’ Clark.
‘There are girls – young ladies – in the WNBA who are jealous of Caitlin Clark,’ he said on First Take. ‘She is a white girl that has come into the league.’
He added, ‘One would think that folks would be smart enough to recognize and appreciate that about Caitlin Clark – piggyback off of that to their benefit and praise her and support her for it while competing on the court against her.’

Whitlock also took aim at Clark’s teammate Kelsey Mitchell, who is the leading scorer (just barely over Clark) on the 7-11 team.
He said that the Fever needed to remove Mitchell from the team because she’s ‘playing a completely different game than everybody else on the court.’
Following the Fever’s loss to the Chicago Sky on Sunday, several clips flooded social media, showing Clark’s teammates dropping simple passes and missing lay-ups .
And some angry fans even branded Clark’s teammates the ‘worst ever’ after the game.
