Kristaps Porzingis of the Boston Celtics is still working on returning to the floor after suffering a calf injury during the Miami Heat series. The 17-time NBA champions are concerned about the Latvian big man’s ailment since he is crucial to their success this season.
Thankfully, the veteran has provided a favorable report on his recovery. He acknowledges that it will take some time to return, but he is progressing toward being well.
In a video, Kristaps Porzingis may be seen working out with Celtics coaches. Porzingis is not ready to play again. TNT reporter Chris Haynes says he’ll probably miss the whole second-round series against the Orlando Magic or the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In the opening round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs, the Boston Celtics defeated the Miami Heat, destroying them in five games with a margin of victory of at least 14 points. Per the NBA website, Porzingis averaged 12.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game.
Kristaps Porzingis Has Been Amazing Since He Joined the Celtics
Last season, Porzingis was moved to the Celtics in a three-team transaction that sent Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies after turbulent spells in Dallas and Washington. The Latvian struggled to establish his flow with the Wizards and failed to connect with Luka Doncic of the Mavericks.
Kristaps Porzingis has been his most fabulous self in the last five years with the Celtics. This season, the veteran has created a fantastic lineup at TD Garden by perfectly balancing Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
The “Unicorn” played 57 games for the C’s during the regular season, averaging 20.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. This season, his health has significantly improved, which has benefited his club throughout their two stars’ absences due to injury.
The Cavs and Magic won’t pose much danger to the Celtics, but the competition will grow harder in the following round. The Celtics are a solid favorite to get to the Eastern Conference Finals.
