British actor Ian Gelder, renowned for his portrayal of Kevan Lannister in the acclaimed series “Game of Thrones,” has passed away at the age of 74, as announced by his husband and fellow actor Ben Daniels on Tuesday.

“With immense sorrow and a heart shattered into a million pieces, I must share the heartbreaking news of the passing of my beloved husband and life partner Ian Gelder,” Daniels wrote on Instagram.

Gelder had been battling bile duct cancer since December, and Daniels had paused his own work to care for him. However, as Daniels revealed, the progression of Gelder’s illness took them by surprise with its swiftness.

In a heartfelt tribute to his partner of 30 years, Daniels described Gelder as “the kindest, most generous-spirited, and loving human being,” expressing gratitude for his unwavering support and describing him as his “rock.”
