Ryan Reynolds is a true Swiftie!
The actor, 47, revealed his favorite Taylor Swift song in an interview with Variety published on Wednesday, July 10.
While promoting the upcoming action flick Deadpool & Wolverine, costars Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as well as director Shawn Levy took a friendly quiz on how well they know each other. The outlet asked Jackman and Levy, both 55, to name Reynolds’ favorite song by the pop superstar.
However, both guessed incorrectly, with Jackman insisting Reynolds’ top pick was “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” from the 2012 Red album and Levy saying “Gorgeous” from 2017’s Reputation.
“He sang it to me on the very last day of the shoot,” Jackman said of his guess, “Word for word.” When the Wolverine actor continued to protest, Reynolds insisted, “I hummed it.”
The Deadpool star then revealed his answer is the song “Betty,” which secretly revealed the name of his third daughter that he shares with wife Blake Lively. The singer also mentions the couple’s daughters, James, 9, and Inez, 7, in the song.
“In my Folkmore and Evermore era,” he said of his pick.
Swift confirmed the characters in “Betty” were named after the stars’ children when introducing the song on the radio. “I named all the characters in this story after my friends’ kids… and I hope you like it!” Swift said in her introduction while explaining the song’s meaning.
Shortly after the release, a source with knowledge of the situation told PEOPLE that “Betty” was named in part for Lively and Reynolds’ third daughter whose name hadn’t yet been revealed.

In 2021, Reynolds opened up on SiriusXM Town Hall about how he and his wife, 36, kept the song “under wraps” from everybody, including their children. “We surprised them with it,” he said. “They didn’t know. They had no idea.”
He went on to say it was “an honor” to hear their children’s names on the record. “We thought it was pretty, pretty damn amazing. We still do. I still walk down the street and shake my head thinking ‘I can’t believe that happened,’ ” Reynolds shared.
Deadpool & Wolverine is in theaters July 26.
