“I knew it would happen ’cause there’s so many bugs here tonight,” Swift said, coughing after inhaling the insect
Taylor Swift’s first Eras Tour show in Milan was interrupted — by a bug!
“I knew it would happen ’cause there’s so many bugs here tonight,” she told the concerned crowd amid her surprise mashup of “I Almost Do” and “The Moment I Knew.”
“It’ll be fine, I just need to cough a little,” she added before continuing on with the show, just like she did when she previously swallowed bugs at Era Tours shows in London in June and in Chicago in 2023.
Aside from the bug moment, Swift’s Milan show included updated outfits.
The first outfit to catch fans’ attention was her Fearless era costume, which had black and gold designs that pinwheeled out from the center. This led some fans to speculate that Reputation (Taylor’s Version) announcement could be on the way soon.
Swift also wore a matching turquoise blue set for the 1989 portion of the show, a first for the color combination.
The next costume update happened during her Tortured Poets Department set, when she wore a white gown with lyrics from “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” printed in cursive on it. Her previous dress for the set had lyrics from “Fortnight,” reading, “I love you, it’s ruining my life.”
At one point during the show, the crowd started chanting “Sei Bellissima” to her, which means “you are very beautiful” in Italian. The 14-time Grammy winner appeared overwhelmed by the love.
Swift’s show in Milan comes after the “Karma” singer performed two nights of her three-and-a-half-hour Eras Tour in Zürich on July 9 and 10.
“The Eras Tour has brought so many firsts with it… for example, I’d never been to Switzerland before. This place is stunningly beautiful and I loved playing for those 2 wonderful crowds in Zurich,” Swift wrote on Instagram of her experience.
“Pretty wild to think we only have 7 cities left on the European leg of the tour. Up next is a city I’ve been looking forward to playing for so long: Milan!! 🇮🇹”
On July 9, Swift celebrated her 113th show of the Eras Tour by playing several of her “favorite songs” for the Swiss crowd, including Evermore’s “Right Where You Left Me,” 1989’s “All You Had to Do Was Stay” and Red’s “Sad Beautiful Tragic.” She also honored the date by playing “Last Kiss” from Speak Now for the crowd as it mentions July 9 in the lyrics.
Before her shows in Switzerland, Swift performed in Amsterdam for three nights. On July 6, Swift gave a nod to her Kelce with a mashup performance of her 2006 song “Mary’s Song,” “So High School” and “Everything Has Changed,” which left the NFL star pretty emotional.
After the show, the couple was spotted holding hands as they walked out from backstage at the arena following the show. In a video posted by a concertgoer on TikTok, Swift smiled and waved at fans as Kelce raised his arms in the air, hyping up the cheering crowd.
Swift has two shows in Milan and will close out the European segment of the tour in August with five nights at Wembley Stadium in London before heading back across the pond for a final North American leg.
